Research Interests

My research activities are mainly focused on numerical cognition, with particular reference to the spatial aspects of numbers (and magnitudes). In particular my main interest is the shift in spatial attention that is often observed while processing magnitudes: a very fascinating by-product of numerosity processing, indeed. I’ve studied this effect extensively in healthy persons and brain-damaged patients, with or without Unilateral Spatial Neglect, and later I tried to further explore whether proprioceptive and vestibular frames of reference are also involved. Besides, I am interested in several aspects of cognitive disorders following brain-damage (especially, but not only, concerning the diagnosis and rehabilitation).
